Since '17, we've been redefining jazz, blending its golden-age essence with shimmering pop, raw funk, sultry Latin, and intoxicating Brazilian beats. Our sprightly ensemble was slowly assembled part-by-part through the D.C. jazz scene’s notorious jam sessions. Blue Dot performances are never routine - they're spontaneous, lively expressions of our love for music, each set a unique blend of familiar tunes and original improvisation.

Stationed at Georgetown's swanky Alex Speakeasy as the “house band,” and having graced D.C.’s elite stages, we marry rebellion with old-school discipline, ensuring every gig is not just a performance, but an absolute hit. Whether you're vibing to our acoustic duo, our horn-blasting sextet, or anything in between, your event won't just make waves—it'll be a tidal force that has D.C. talking!

  • Fantastic! Sadly, I only heard them play a year after my wedding as they would have killed it. They have a lot of range, an original sound and fun takes on the classics / top 40, if thats what youre into. Definitely tracking their future gigs and would recommend them.

They never compete with the wedding party and guests but offer appropriate background music. Rooted in the music of New Orleans, they blend blues, funk, and Afro-Cuban melodies. They are also very accommodating for any special requests.

  • We hired Blue Dot Jazz Troupe for our wedding and the band is extremely talented. They have a vast knowledge of styles of jazz, a great song bank, and understood our style and requests. The band played music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and a portion of the reception. They played everything from "La Vie en Rose" to Stevie Wonder and we even did a second line! Andy and the band are so professional. They worked very well with our DJ and also a friend of mine who sang at the wedding. So accommodating, excellent musicians, professional, and fun! One of the easiest vendors we worked with and made a huge impact on our event! Will hire again!

Prior to the event the band was very punctual with communication and very accommodating with the arrangements. They arrived on time and delivered a great performance.
